Spring Trend Alert: Upcycled Jewelry
Upcycled clothing and jewelry are major fashion trends this year and the Wag N’ Purr Shop is excited to be a source for fashionistas to find gently loved, upcycled items! In honor of Earth Day coming up I wanted to bring attention to sustainable fashion. The fashion industry takes a huge toll on the environment and we can reduce waste by recycling, or upcycling, our items. In recent years, sustainable fashion has gained popularity and consumers have become increasingly aware of the fashion industry’s impact on the environment. Celebrity stylist Tara Swennen, an advocate for sustainable fashion and veganism, notes that today’s consumers and fashion trendsetters are more environmentally conscious than before (Roshitsh, 2021). She predicts a shift in trends in which “fashion [is] promoting values of intention and responsibility” (Roshitsh, 2021). My favorite jewelry trends this season are chunky gold necklaces, cuff bracelets, and statement earrings. Keep an eye out for these trends on the Wag N’ Purr Shop website. We have some amazing upcycled pieces, like this Alexis Bittar gold chunky bracelet and this unique chunky necklace!
It’s time for Spring Cleaning! When editing your closet this year, consider donating your gently loved items to the Wag N’ Purr Shop. All Wag N’ Purr Shop proceeds will benefit the FACE Foundation and its mission to save pets from economic euthanasia. Information on what items we accept can be found here and the donation form can be found here. If you have any questions, please email info@wagnpurrshop.org or reach out via the Contact Us Page.
